Hotdogs , pretzels, and sweet tea will be provided. Please bring a dish to share and a drink if you want something besides sweet tea. For questions call Pam at 913-426-3191.
DOOR OFFERING FOR VALLEY HOPE
A door offering will be held on July 27th to assist Valley Hope with their Bridge to Recovery Campaign to expand and renovate their facility. Trinity will match up to $5,000 for any donations given, by groups or individuals, through August 10. Would your Bible Class or organization consider donating? Our matching funds will use income from our HELP Foundation. Please mark “Valley Hope” on envelopes placed in the offering plate. Checks should be made out to TLC with “Valley Hope” in the memo line.
LAYETTE KIT DONATIONS NEEDED
Theodora Circle will be putting together layette kits for Orphan Grain Train in August. Please bring donations to the box in the church narthex. The items needed are: 4 cloth diapers, 4 diaper pins, 2 rubber or reusable swimmer pants (not diapers), 2 washcloths, 1 sleeper, 2 onesies, 1 receiving blanket, 1 blanket. Please call Pam Wilburn at 913-426-3191 with questions.
STEWARDSHIP REMINDER
Our budget is quickly falling behind. If you miss worship over the summer for vacation, etc., please consider mailing your offering to the church office, or bringing the missed envelope the following week. The church’s mailing address is 603 N. 8th Street. Thank you!
SCHOOL BAND
Trinity is starting a school band this year! We need your help. You can contribute to our success by donating that band instrument sitting in your closet, unused, but in playing condition. Please contact Karen Schmidt, band director, 816-863-3380, kschmidt@trinityatchison.org for additional information or to donate an instrument.
LUTHERAN WITNESS SUBSCRIPTION RENEWAL
The Lutheran Witness, the official periodical of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod, provides you with stories about your fellow Christians, current events, your church, the Synod, what the Bible has to say about the issues and decisions you face daily. A subscription is $32.00 a year and runs from November 1, 2025, to October 31, 2026. There is an ENVELOPE in your packet for this. Make your check payable to Trinity Lutheran Church. The deadline to subscribe, or renew your subscription, is noon on August 6th.
JULY FOOD PANTRY NEEDS
This month we are suggesting canned green beans, Jello/pudding, and canned fruit (peaches, mandarin oranges, pineapple, applesauce, fruit cocktail, or pears) for our Food Pantry. The need is GREAT! (Please, no expired or near expired food.) Questions see Terry Mills.
JULY OCC NEEDS
Operation Christmas Child is collecting accessories for July: sunglasses, bandanas, jewelry, hair ties, barrettes, bows, wristwatches, socks, underwear, small bags/backpacks, flashlights, etc.
INVITATION
It is not too early to begin thinking and praying about who you should invite to our next Adult Inquirers’ Class that will begin on August 17. See the sign-up sheet in today’s bulletin for more info.
THRIVENT ACTION TEAMS
Thrivent Action Team Cards are available. Action Teams can be used for any type of community service project, fundraiser, or educational event. Contact your Thrivent representative if you need help applying.
PRAYER GUIDE – July 13, 2025
Trinity Lutheran Church
“I love the LORD, because he has heard my voice and my pleas for mercy. Because he inclined his ear to me, therefore I will call on him as long as I live.” Psalm 116:1-2
Dearest Lord, thank You for the brothers and sisters in faith that I have at Trinity. I pray that Your love will be evident in our interactions and decision-making. Help us to overcome any divisions and work together harmoniously as one body in Christ. May our efforts reflect Your grace and unity, and may we be a shining example of Your love to those around us. Guide us in maintaining peace and harmony in our church and let Your Spirit lead us in all things.
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of summer and vacations away from work and school. Please bless all of our people as they create beautiful memories, and rest from their labors. Provide them with safe travels and renewed energy upon returning.
Good Shepherd, bless our Evangelism Callers who go out every Monday evening. Raise up more men and women to become callers to reach the thousands in our community who do not have salvation.
Loving Father, watch over and bless our shut-ins: Anelle Genail, Linda Cross, Lois Vowels, Darlene Robinson, Shirley Fuller, Sue Eyler, Alvin Wehking, Jessie Miller, Cindy Hoverson, Rick Hitchens, Dan Huff, Ellen Reno, Janice McDevitt, Roy Truman, Nancy Shannon, Tudy Devor, Sherry Garrison, Cheril Hefner, Mary Ranger, Wayne Reno, David Olson, Marjorie Stone, Mary Kuhnert, and Richard Linden.
O Great Physician, be with all who are struggling with cancer: Harold Olson, David Smith, Kristy Melton, Crissi Harvey, Diana Rooney, Amy Keys, Manny Ramos, Wayne Hundley, Judy Dissen, Thomas Rockey, Glenda Griffin, and Linda Estes.
Great Redeemer, I ask that You bless all Your children that are persecuted for their faith. For the Saints that refuse to deny Christ despite imprisonment, torture, and even death, through the Holy Spirit, help them remain steadfast. For those who persecute my brothers and sisters, may their spirits be touched by the incredible faith of those whom they attack. May the witness of the faithful cause them to turn from their sin and open their hearts to Your love.
Almighty God, also watch over and protect these young people in the Armed Services: Jeremy Hanshaw, Jennifer Lassen, Travis Hooper,
Romonn Calhoun, Dylan Klawuhn, Derrick Reyes, Joshua Blasi, Michael Krock, Robert Berry, Aaron Cairo, Libby Harper, Shane Gierstorf, Cameron Fridell, Ethan Piper, MacKenzie Forbes, Michael Forbes, Kiah Cockrell, Joshua Hughes, Conner Simmers, and Nora Richter.
Compassionate Father, I pray for the sick, recuperating, and those struggling with chronic illnesses: Anelle Genail, Harvey Mead, Alane Hanshaw, Steve Estes, Michelle McMillan, Marvin Sumy, Cindy Hoverson, Laura Kelly, Leonard Green, Joe Cornell, Joe Schletzbaum, Linda Wilson, Larry Genail, Ellen Reno, Steve Niemann, Randy Kearney, Steve Hobus, Monte Minard, Laurie Reed, Sue Schuler, Danny Rivera, Patty Donaldson, Mike Stapleton, Cindy Swimarski, Clay Lutz, Phillip Cairo, Richard Sinclair, Emma Clowers, Jeane Koenen, Stan Snyder, Cheril Hefner, and Joyce Williams, Pastor Jonathan Schulz, and Robbie Kincaid.
Thank You, our Great Provider, for the gift of the recent rains. I pray that we will have seasonable weather this growing season, and plentiful rains, but not enough to cause flooding, in order to provide for a bountiful harvest in the Fall.
Gracious Savior, I thank You for those that faithfully serve You as offering counters and stewardship recorders. I appreciate their attention to detail in handling our offerings, and in keeping track of my financial gifts to Trinity. Help me and all our congregation to be faithful in our giving and meeting our pledges. Help us make up the funds that are quickly falling behind.
