LUNCH AND LEARNING  

The August Lunch and Learning date has been changed to today following the 10:30 service. 

 

BACK-TO-SCHOOL EVENTS 

School families are invited to attend one of our Back-to-School events where they can drop off their school supplies and see the classrooms. Events are today from 11:30-12:30 and Monday, Aug. 10, from 5:00-7:00 PM. 

 

CHANGE FOR THEODORA CIRCLE 

The August 10th meeting for Theodora Circle has been rescheduled for August 17th at 6:00 PM in the school cafeteria, where we will assemble Layette Kits.  

 

INTERESTED IN A HIGH SCHOOL PROGRAM AT TRINITY? 

Trinity is exploring the possibility of hosting an on-site/online high school program in the future. A letter with a QR code linking to a short survey is available in the narthex. This survey is intended for parents at school, church, and in the community as we examine the feasibility of such a program. Please take a copy, complete the survey, and feel free to share it with families who may have a high school student in the near future. 

 

MIDDLE SCHOOL YOUTH GROUP 

This month’s Middle School Youth Group will be held on August 23rd from 5:00-6:30 PM in the school cafeteria. 

 

BLOOD DRIVE 

Our next Blood Drive will be on Monday, August 24, 1:00-5:00 PM. Marcene Selberg will be available in the Mother’s Room after both morning services to help you sign up, or you can visit RedCrossBlood.org or call 1-800-RED-CROSS to make an appointment. 

2026-2027 TLS STAFF

MATCH DAY 

Match Day is coming! Your gifts for our school can be doubled through the Atchison Community Foundation with a maximum of $5,000. Gifts can be made online by visiting AllAboardAtchison.com ON Friday, August 14, or mailed in with checks payable to AACF, to P.O. Box 387, Atchison, KS 66002. Checks must be postmarked by August 14. Please specify your gift is for our school. For forms or information, please contact Principal Birnbaum.  

 

 

ATCHISON COMMUNITY CHILDREN’S CHORUS 

An informational meeting will be held on Sept. 8 at 6:00p at the United Methodist Church, 501 Kansas Ave. The chorus is open to those in 4th – 8th Grade, and 3rd graders who attended the summer camp.  

 

AUGUST FOOD PANTRY NEEDS 

Our pantry is in need of the following items:  pasta (spaghetti, fettuccine, penne, or elbow macaroni only), spaghetti sauce, instant potatoes, potato sides, gravy packets/jars, “complete” pancake mix, syrup, baked beans, shelf-stable milk, powdered milk, instant pudding, jello, cake mix (chocolate or white only), canned icing (chocolate or vanilla only), canned fruit (only applesauce, peaches, pears, fruit cocktail, pineapple, mandarin oranges), laundry and dish soap. 

  

AUGUST OCC NEEDS 

Operation Christmas Child is collecting school supplies for August.  We need: notebooks/coloring pads (7x12 or smaller), pencils, markers, colored pencils, pens, pencil sharpeners, erasers, scissors, glue sticks, rulers, calculators, dry watercolor sets, and tape.   

 

THRIVENT ACTION TEAMS 

Thrivent Action Team Cards are available. Action Teams can be used for any type of community service project, fundraiser, or educational event. Contact your Thrivent representative if you need help applying. 

 

CHANGES FOR THRIVENT CHOICE DOLLARS 

Thrivent has made changes to their Thrivent Choice program. All members now receive Choice Dollars. All Choice Dollars are now available in full at the beginning of the year and may be directed anytime through December 31, instead of the old deadline of March 31. If you haven’t already allocated your funds, please consider Trinity Lutheran Church or School. Contact your Thrivent representative for assistance.
